Black Wolf Bretheren - Prologue
A lone owl cry echoed around as a warrior, clad in a black, long cape, dismounted his horse. The black animal whinnied nervously, snorting into the cold, black night. The others stopped behind their leader, and only his general dared to step forth, and joined him. The river was smoothly flowing in its tight riverbed, making their way past them, and the stone bridge, that was their way to their homeland, desolated lands, called Henneth Ai'rgid - onwards of the Silverfin river. The small army of men could hear a lone wolf's cry in the distance, on the plains of their home, and their hears filled with pride and happiness, a feeling they rarely felt. The leader, Einar, smiled at the darkness, asking his general: "Where are we going, Ahai?" Ahai, the general, grimaced in a smile: "Home, Einar. We're going home." The glinting eyes of both men were visible from across the river, where every man, woman and child was awaiting the return of the warriors they both loved and feared - The Black Wolf bretheren.
*I know it's pretty short for a prologue, but if you guys are gonna like it, I can post more of the story *

Re: Black Wolf Bretheren - Prologue
You really think so?
If yes, thanks a lot!
Black Wolf Bretheren is only the first one in the series of the three book I'll be writing, if I'll have the will for it.
Do you want me to post a bit of the story from there on?

Re: Black Wolf Bretheren - Prologue
* ok, glad you like it! *
"No! No, I tell you! They won't pillage our lands like this! They won't take our people as slaves! Not again," like this, the booming voice of Fáelán, the king of It'Airgid, echoed around the marbe-paved throne room. The men, his banner bearers, were already whispering that there was no way to stop the breatheren, and the king knew that he had to make sure it wouldn't happen. He sat back down onto his stone throne, frustrated. Those wolves were pillaging his villages for months, taking his people for slaves!
He touched the sword on his hip, feeling the polished black stone beneath his fingers, feeling his rings, made of massive gold, brush onto the stone. Suddenly, he unsheated his sword, surprising everyone in the throne room. Just as he wanted to hold his final speech, an old man rose, speaking with a weak voice: "My lord, my king, there is still another choice. In the Golden Years, under the rule of Meálán the Brave, our kingdom was allied with the Sworn and the Black Guard. If only we could get those to our side, we can beat those mutts, and send them back where they belong!" Fáelán could sense a trait of energy in the old man's words, but he smiled fainly: "All right, Kayin. Send out two messengers, with each bearing a message about our need. If they don't come to our aid, the alliance is broken." Kayin bowed his head, but when the king couldn't hear, he whispered: "It already is broken. The men of old won't listen to this weakling that calls himself king."
* this one isn't as good as the prologue, but hope you like it anyways. Tell me if you want me to post more *

Heh, thanks. I can always try, but my concentration's bad today, I'm still overly focused on golf. Will try to post the next part tomorrow, if I'll have time.

Re: Black Wolf Bretheren - Prologue
* here's the next part. I wrote this a week ago or something. I don't know if it's enough detail, but I guess not every part needs that much of a detil. Many book I read aren't in detail at all.
This part is the continuing of the last one, and the main story will be told from Morrígan's and Einar's POV *
Morrígan could hear the booming voices of men in the throne room, but she didn't care about it. The only thing in her mind were the glassy eyes of her friend, staring blindly into her face. It brought tears to the young girl's face, her best friend had been murdered by the black wolves on their last raid. Her mother, Eimear, was taken as a prisoner by the black wolves as well, and now the young princess didn't have anything at all. Just a father, that didn't seem to care for her at al. She tore her eyes away from the distance and wandered around her room, stopping reluctantly on the sword in the wood scabbard, tied onto the wall. In the same moment as she saw it, her heart filled with some sudden hope, like she didn't know what she was doing. A fool's hope. She got up and wrapped her fingers around the polished wood grip, feeling the little carvings below, carved down into the heart of the wood. She slid her other hand across the polished steel, pulling the sword out, letting its weight rest in her hand.
She will go. She will stop them. Her hand reched up into her chestnut brown hair, pulling out the small, golden tiara she wore, and drop it onto the ground. She grabbed the black long cape on her bed and clasped it around her shoulders, the silver brooch the only thing light. All her other clothes were night black, there was no sign of the princess she was.
The day was slowly turning into night, and even though it was the middle of summer, the night was cold. As cold as the threat from the black wolves. Her eyes locked onto the It'Airgid river flowing in the distance, and the wastelands that lay across. She could almost feel the tension in the city of kings. She could feel fear in every corner, creeping up every man's spine. There was no more sign of the princess she had been. Now, she was a rogue. Black killer of the black night. She fastened the sword to her leather belt and crept out of the castle, silently as breath. The guards weren't on their posts, they must've been out drinking, at least so Morrígan thought. She wandered into the stables, and walked down to the very last horse, black as night as well. It whinnied nervously as she touched it and put the saddle on, but she had no other difficulties about getting him out, through the city gate, and into the black night.
*how'd you like this? *
